Installation
To install the router you must follow the Instructions below:
Connect a Ethernet Cable from your Broadband Modem/Digital Box to the WAN port on the Dynamode router (port next to Antenna).
Connect a Ethernet Cable from one of the LAN ports of the Dynamode router to your PC's Network Card
please make sure that there are no other cables connecting your Broadband Modem/Digital Box, to your Computer.
Please Make sure that your PC is enabled to obtain IP Address Automatically:
XP Only
Go to Control Panel > Network Connections > Right Click on Wireless Adaptor Local Area Network > Properties > TCP/IP > Properties > check obtain IP Address Automatically
Vista Only
Got to Control Panel > Network and Internet > View network status and Tasks . On the connection for your wireless, click on the View status link on the right. Click Properties > TCP/IP > Properties > check obtain IP Address Automatically
Please make sure that ALL Firewall or any other Viruses Protections are Turned OFF or Disabled.
Please check that the Your PC/Laptop received an IP Address from the router:
Click on START > RUN > Type in CMD > OK
in the command prompt window please type IPCONFIG
your IP Address should be 192.168.0.X
Default Gateway should be 192.168.0.1
If you received the result above, then it means that you are connected to the router. if not please repeat the steps above.
Once you have received the IP Address above, minimize the Command prompt window and open your Internet Browser
(firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on SYSTEM (left) > SYSTEM STATUS
on this screen, you should see values for the following options:
WAN IP ADDRESS example 247.165.198.234
PRIMARY DNS example 194.168.4.100
SECONDARY DNS example 194.168.8.100
If you do not see these values, then click on WAN Setup (left) > Click On CONNECTION TYPE > make sure DYNAMIC IP ADDRESS is selected
once all changes have been made, click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select REBOOT ROUTER, then click OK. The settings will now be saved, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
Now Turn off / Power down all devices – the Dynamode Router, the Broadband Modem/Digital Box and your Computer.
Now reboot the devices in the following order:
1. Switch on the Dynamode Router and leave it to boot up for approx. 2 minutes.
2. Switch on your Computer and leave it to boot up to the Main Desktop screen.
3. Finally, switch on the Broadband Modem/Digital Box and leave it to boot up for a few minutes.
Once this has been done, open your Web-Browser on the Computer.
Do you have Internet Connectivity ?
WEP Setup
Open your Internet Browser (firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on WIRELESS (left) > BASIC CONFIGURATION
down this screen, you will see the option SSID set to DEFAULT
change the name
Make sure CHANNEL is set to 11_ 2.462GHz
Make sure SSID BROADCAST is ticked ENABLED
Click on the OK button
Click on WEP (LEFT)
Make sure WEP ENCRYPTION is set to 64 BITS 10 HEX DIGITS
put your cursor into KEY 1 window
Enter a key like the following below:
8f 9ad2c1b2 (lower case _ no spaces)
Make sure DEFAULT TRANSMIT KEY is set to 1
Click on the OK button
Click on SECURITY (left)
Open the drop-down window next to SECURITY MODE, and select WEP
Click on the OK button
once all changes have been made, click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select REBOOT ROUTER, then click OK. The settings will now be saved, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
Once this has been done, you will need to open your WIRLESS UTILITY on your Wireless Computer,
and try to connect to your Wireless Network (your Routers SSID name)
Please Make sure that your Wireless Adaptor is enabled to obtain IP Address Automatically:
XP Only
Go to Control Panel > Network Connections > Right Click on Wireless Adaptor Local Area Network > Properties > TCP/IP > Properties > check obtain IP Address Automatically
Vista Only
Got to Control Panel > Network and Internet > View network status and Tasks . On the connection for your wireless, click on the View status link on the right. Click Properties > TCP/IP > Properties > check obtain IP Address Automatically
Now go to WIRLESS NETWORKS (bottom-right of screen, next to clock)
Right-click on WIRLESS NETWORKS, and click on VEIW AVALABLE WIRELESS NETWORKS
This will open a Wireless Utility.
You will see your Routers SSID In the list
Double-click on your SSID name to connect.
You will be prompted to enter a Security Key
Enter the WEP key you created on the Router.
Hard Reset
Open your Internet Browser (firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS, then click on the OK button
The settings will now be restored, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
or
On the rear of the router, you will see a Reset button between the Power cable and LAN4
with the router powered ON, push and hold the Reset button down for 15 seconds then release.
All the Lights will go out, then start coming back on again.
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
DMZ
Open your Internet Browser (firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on NAT (left) > DMZ
Make sure the option DMZ is ticked ENABLED
enter the IP Address of the local computer into VIRTUAL DMZ HOST, then click on ADD
Once this is done, click on the OK button
Click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select REBOOT ROUTER, then click on the OK button
The settings will now be applied, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
Port Forwarding
Open your Internet Browser (firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on NAT (left) > VIRTUAL SERVER
In this screen you will see a configuration table.
Enter the details as follows:
PRIVATE IP enter IP Address of the computer to forward / open ports to.
PRIVATE PORT enter the PORT number to be forwarded
TYPE select the PORT type (TCP, UDP or BOTH)
PUBLIC PORT enter the PORT number to be forwarded
COMMENT enter a COMMENT ? NAME for the new rule
ENABLED tick this option if you require the rule to be ACTIVE
Once all changes have been made, click on the OK button
Click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select REBOOT ROUTER, then click on the OK button
The settings will now be applied, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
Change LOGIN password
Open your Internet Browser (firefox, Internet Explorer)
Type in the Address Bar http://192.168.0.1 > Username: admin > Password: admin
Click on SYSTEM (left) > ADMINISTRATOR SETTINGS
Enter the details as follows:
USER NAME admin
CURRENT PASSWORD admin
NEW PASSWORD enter new password (3~12 characters MAX)
RETYPE PASSWORD enter new password (3~12 characters MAX)
Once all changes have been made, click on the OK button
Click on SYSTEM (left) > CONFIGURATION TOOLS
Select REBOOT ROUTER, then click on the OK button
The settings will now be applied, and the router will be rebooted
Please leave the Router to stand for a few minutes for the settings to be applied
